Then i went to Funan, dropped by at Dell, met Taufiq and Jack. Talked a bit, then went around Peninsular Plaza hunting for FD-EF converters and filter ring mounts. Finally found a filter ring mount, 58-67. Opened me up to a world of new filters my dad had sitting in his closet. Just a couple of filters:

Met Mr Tang, Mr Lam and many other teachers that taught me before, really good to go back from time to time. Mr Lam also seemed to be interested in my camera. Considering that he teaches physics, which dabbles heavily with lenses, rarefaction and reflection, i think he would probably pick up photography even faster than me, knowing which lenses to use for what.

Then, of course, i went home. But when i was reaching home, I saw a dog! The owner let me take couple of shots at the dog. My first time taking pictures of live objects apart from a couple of my friends.

Darkness Falls.

As he walked away, i began to realise that life in a cubicle was perhaps not the kind of job that i was actually looking for. Sure, it was a stable, well paying, 9 to 5 job. But now i realised how foolish i was to realise that money and stability would actually make me happy. I needed something in my life, I needed fresh air, to feel the adrenaline coursing through me, to do something spectuacular, that made a difference. I didn’t want to be one of the many sheep that flocked around the world, quietly, silently conforming to the dreges of society, living with a life that was not truely a miserable. I needed to get out, and live my life.

It was then i realised that i should act immediately. Feeling the courage that i would probably never feel again, i reached for the strings of destiny and grasped firmly upon it. Fighting against every the sheer intensity of my muscle and bone, which had frozen up to protect me from what i was about to do, i pushed myself up from my seat. I walked towards my manager’s office. Everything seemed to slow down.. My vision began to blur. I could hear my heart thumping, my limbs had seemingly turned into lead. My brain raced with thoughts, fear, anger, happiness. I felt confused and conflicted.

I reached the door, and pushed it open. My manager looked up, suprised by the sudden and unwelcome entry. He stared at me, his surprise quickly turning into anger. His eyebrows raised warily, and his eyes narrowed. There was a sinister gleam in his eyes, daring me to move one step closer. I obliged. He snapped.

“John, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MY OFFICE? GET BACK AND DO YOUR WORK! I WANT THE REPORT IN AN HOUR.”

“Yeah, that’s not gonna happen.” I replied cooly.

“WHA-?”

“Yeah, it just so happens i’m sick of how you’re treating me. In fact, it’s not just me, you treat the whole company like everyone’s your slave, and if anyone had any guts right now, they would just simply spit in your face. But yeah, i’m not gonna do that cos’ it’s just beneath me.”

“I quit.”

I slammed the door shut and walked away, each step feeling lighter and more brilliant, like i was walking towards nirvana.

I felt freedom, i felt vindication. This was a feeling i had never felt in years, it was now that i began to live.

Bumped into Linus at AMK hub while on my way to MS Colour, who apparently described me as a loser, who i can only sadly agree with.

I got sidetracked on the way to MS colour, pausing to take a couple pics of the fountain. Didn’t turn out nice. Only gonna post the single decent photo i got, which could have been as easily emulated with a P&S.

Went for dinner after that…ate some BBQ chicken thingy. Fooled around with filter…taking couple of pics. Nothing spectacular really, just posting for memories.

Hopefully i get paid doing these shots for the store auntie.

N95! My great traveling companion. Does everything!

Reached home and spent about 1 hour attempting to clean the sensor. One full hour of epic failure. Cleaned furiously, then setting the camera to aperture priority, F22, took a shot of the ceiling, but alas, more dust! Repeated that for the whole hour checking if i had cleaned the sensor sufficiently. Really frustrating.

Well, no, not that TT. This one :

Nice huh? According to the article from Gizmodo and Engadget, it’s gonna weigh in at about 1.3Kg, with options for Blu-Ray, dual SSDs and a HD screen. I currently own a TX, and it’s going fine…but i wouldn’t really mind an upgrade. The battery life on my TX and the weight is seriously stunning. The screen is pretty ok for work, but not in the long run. Gaming is a no go on the TX, but i’m looking for a laptop for work.

In my opinion, it’s a bit pricey, at 2000 USD for the base model, but if my TX has taught me anything, it’s way more practical for usage than my Macbook. So yeah. I want this TT! But probably won’t get one…not enough cash. Saving up for lenses. Well, you can’t have everything in life. Made me excited though…
